Over Mother's Day my son was not sure what he wanted to get me and I had suggested a floating locket which he thought was a good idea as well. He had informed me that he was deciding on the charms though. When I received the locket and charms I was so overwhelmed with emotion, not only because of the lovely locket, but also at the charms he had chosen.
It has been shared throughout our family that when my grandparents had passed away they both would always be in our lives as whatever ‘ being’ they both were known for. My grandmother absolutely loved Butterflies so that was an easy one. However, the Bumble Bee had made its presence in my grandfather's life so very many times and it became known to all of us that the Bumble Bee represented my grandfather. It wasn't until many months after they had passed that we began seeing both the Bubble Bees & the Butterflies more and more in our lives. At first we hadn't taken much notice to it but as we compared stories it became immediately apparent that their presence was still among us.
Wouldn’t you know that the first 3 charms that my son had sent me were of a Bumble Bee, a Butterfly and an I Love You Heart. I cannot put into words how it felt to wear that Floating Locket for the 1 st time, knowing the contents that it contained. Then…I had an epiphany…or I would like to think so. I wanted to share this new found way (to me) of keeping my precious memories with me always. Not only can I have my “Special Memorable Lockets” but I also have my “Fun and Whimsical Lockets” as well that are ever-changing, depending on the season, holiday or just feeling silly that day!
